David Spungen

David advises successful entrepreneurs on integrated strategies to preserve, manage, and enhance their family’s wealth, incorporating investment, wealth transfer, tax, and philanthropic objectives. He sits on the firm’s investment committee and has an active role in the formulation and oversight of the firm's investment policy and implementation of client portfolios. He brings more than 30 years of experience covering a broad spectrum of capital markets investing and providing independent, objective advice to wealthy individuals and families. Prior to founding Hillview Capital Advisors, Mr. Spungen was the founder of the Capital Management Division of CMS Companies in 1989, where he also served as a principal from 1995-1999.

Mr. Spungen was previously an Associate with Ryan, Beck & Company. He served as a Director of M Funds, Inc., M Financial Investment Advisors, and Hirtle Callaghan Trust. He is currently a Member of the Board and is Co-Chairman of the Development Committee at The Child Center of NY. He also has extensive experience in the restaurant industry as a chef. He was a lunch chef and sous chef at La Terrasse, and was the opening head chef at the White Dog Café, both in Philadelphia. He remains passionate about food and cooks for his family 7 days a week, for which he receives endless gratitude. Mr. Spungen resides in Brooklyn Heights with his wife, Aliana, and his children Ella and Joey. Mr. Spungen holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
